The only way for 99% of us to really tell with any degree of accuracy how a buck scores is to have have him lying on the ground with a tape in one hand and measuring instructions in the other. IMO the reason many do not get scored is because it would take the wind out of the sails of the owner of many estimated P&Y or BC bucks. I'am off to try and see what a 15# steelhead looks like.

velvet makes them look bigger, i agree, size of bases is very big factor in scoring..they look thicker in velvet..i have shot a 165..12pt..150 ten pt..and some 130's..not with a lot of mass..I have a 10pt i took with my video cam that has g3's longer than g2's..12 inches..no really wide but high all the way..bases would be whether it scores hight than 140..not hard to get inches on 10pts with long tines and spreat of 18inches..these are rough score estimates..ironhed was the one who started see the monsters..If i see an 18 inch 8pt in these mountains, thats a monster to me and would be proud to put on my wall..As far as snowfall..maybe you guys who don't have snowmachines should buy one and come up here and ride and see what kind on snowfall we get all winter..used to call my buddies from pittsburgh to come up and they would say NO SNOW..would tell them just come up.> did not see snow until they left dubois and got ontop of mountain..when people put 2 to 3 thousand miles on sleds in a winter up here, we have deep snow...MY friend who lives on top..took 80 inches off his deck last winter..its a different world up here in the winter...As far a winter kill, NO ONE KNOWS..because who walks drainages in the spring?????? not wco's thats for sure...who walks up MOsquito creek,gifford run,12 mile, no one ..look at them on the map...bottom of wild country and big mountains..chicken..pm me and i will send you some big bucks..

what makes them in the 150 class is mass of antlers..probable up here, the ones that look 150 in velvet wont make it because of that factor...probable over 5 in bases...4 times that on each antler can make a big difference in scoring..up here you might be 4 inches on each side less..I have them that big, but not the mass on antlers..need email address chicken..
