Mile Creeks Report

As of last night there were no fish in 4 MIle or 7 Mile, a few on the upper part of 12,and a few in 16. We went to 20 Mile last week and had the creek pretty much to ourselves with about 50 fish that came in the night before. Then we went back the next day to see over 200 fish in the lower end. What a blast not to be elbow to elbow and catch a few feesh. Since then word got out and it was a real zoo. To my amazement eveyone was very polite and saw no litter. Hats off to you! Then we got 1/2" of rain and most of the fish moved on up. So we got a good shot of rain today and should see more feesh come in the creeks tonight. 4 Mile has a new ladder and just wanted everyone to know that you are not to fish 100' above or below it. Hope this helps for those that have to travel a long way to fish.

It doesn't look like you got a "good" shot of rain today.  I've been watching radar, looking at the current weather conditions page with rainfall amounts, and the Walnut Creek gauge hasn't even moved a blip.  Even the web cams at Uncle John's show Elk Creek as no change at all today.

Can anyone else verify a "good" rain in the Erie area today that has affected the tribs?

    Thanks for the report.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

The first rains we get are gonna get sucked into the earth. Everything in Erie is bone dry. The bay is lower than I've ever seen it.

We are gonna need DAYS of rain to make any difference here.

Dam, Kirk, wonder how the word got out.

Yeh, with those ladders, bet the steelies are up to 90 by now.
Skip's fishing in the back yard in a lawn chair.

What a waste of time and money. I'll be surprised if one dam fish makes it up those ladders.

As of my trip last night to the east side streams.........

4 mile : Saw a couple stragglers at the mouth. Very low and gin clear. Didn't see any around the ladders.
7 mile : Was not worth stopping.
12 mile : Fish seem to be skittish....they were in and out. Very few people, decent amount of fish. They are quite a ways up....
16 mile : Clear and low.....fish are easy to spot, but so are you.
20 mile : Typical zoo. A lot of fish moving around...seen a lot caught. Water had a little tint early on, but is quickly dropping and clearing. A lot of people, but not elbow to elbow. Would be a good place to take a kid -

Walnut : A lot of people having fun on the wall. Many fish caught many fish lost. Many fish already with jewelry.

Just because there are a few pods of fish does not make it worth a trip if your not from the area. There are as many people as fish. When I lived in Pittsburgh I always used this site to get info. I took my boy with me alot and didn't want to drive 2 hours to find that we could not fish or that the fish were not there. The fish commission website and the newspaper already gave away that fish are in the creeks.

Give Kirk a break....he has never mentioned that he owns a bait shop (if he really does ?). You guys should just be happy that there is a bait shop on the east side...and it's ran by a red blood American. Never been into his shop before, but will make a point to now. I always here ****ing when a bait shop goes under, but the ones that remain in business are criticized ? Heaven forbid that a guy try and make a buck anymore...it was not like he was advertising....like some of the board members.

    I will post a report if and when I want - I don't give a rats****if you like it or not -
