Electric Socks

Now that I am getting older, my feet get fairly cold standing in the creeks in the colder months. Most of the feedback on battery operated socks are negative on the Internet. Has anyone actually found a pair of battery operated socks that work?

not sure about electric socks, but the socks with a pouch above the toes for a hot hands hand warmer are nice, the ones that last 12 hours are plenty enough for a day in the creek or woods, ive only seen them at dicks, gander mountain, and walmart once, for what its worth i hope this helps

Wear a pair of thin nylon mens dress socks (or good poly) and then a pair of wool socks over them. Good thick wool, keep your feet DRY. Works better than any heater I've ever seen.

Hope your waders don't leak, don't want to get a jolt !
Never used them, but I like the idea of the ones with the hand warmers.
The mistake most people make is having too many socks on that make it too tight. Like Indy said, your toes need some room to move around insid ethe boot, if squished together they will get cold.

I bought a pair of these several years ago. They suck. The idea is good, but the problem is that soon after you boot up, the little pack will run out of oxygen in the boot it needs to burn and will provide no warmth at all until you take the boot off at the end of the day. On the drive home it warms the feet up nicely though.

The remedy for cold feet is insulated boot waders, I use to wear stocking waders, and have used electric socks for waders, which means the wires come all the way up to your chest so you can start them when needed, however the socks never lasted long due to what appeared to be wire problems.

Nope. The remedy is to wear a hat.

To cheagler & bingsbaits, your saying wear a hat to keep you feet warm, I’m saying wear insulated boots to keep you head warm lol. Yes your both right, most of body heat escapes from the head and I also have a bomber hat that I wear mostly for ice fishing, I actually find it too warm when walking the streams looking for steelhead.

Go with the Toasti Toes by Heat Max.  Get them at WalMart.  Get the insoles for the bottom of your feet and put the toe warmers on top.  Works great.

One thin pair of breathable polyprpopalene, silk or polyester socks under a thick 100% wool pair is key for me. Your boot should also have room for your toes to wiggle. NO cotton! DONE!!
