The only change I would like to see is the 5 fish limit in the spring reduced to 3 like it is in the Fall. I know not that many steelies are caught once regular trout season opens, but I still don't think that five should be allowed to be kept.
I also think the the regular trout season limit should be 3 fish a day. But thats just my $.02

If we all release all of our fish, of every species, we'll be able to catch more and more every year. Who's with me?

Well I just picked up a whole bag full of cans and bottles at Manchester hole. I wasn't fishing--just walking the #3 beagle.

And there will be 10 times as many, and they will all be huge. 25 pound walleye, 40 pound steelies...10 pound perch! C&R people, it's the future of your fishery!

I can't say for certain, but I suspect there's alot more locals than out 0f towners fishing this early in the season.

It appears to me, and maybe I am mistaken, that in recent years, the fish are not getting upstream as in past years, especially on Walnut. I am speculating that the cause is the obstructions created in the development of the project waters. The fish now really get backed-up in the project waters. Since there is no catch and release, they get wiped out before they get beyond the chutes. If everyone takes out three, there just aren't many fish left to go upstream.

Regardless of carrying capacity or size, if the point of stocking is to provide angling opportunities, and if the harvesting of fish is removing most of the fish before they can get very far upstream, the net effect is to reduce the angling opportunities on the nice upper waters of some of the streams like Walnut ....

How about a 2 fish limit?

I toss back most of my stream caught steel.  On the boat...  If it is legal I kill it or someone else will.  Trolling costs gas money and fish pay that bill.  9 inch Perch?  Kill it.  15 1/2 inch Walleye?  Kill it.  Steel?  Kill it because it will die anyway.  Sheep?  Kill it then throw it back.
