bottom bouncers

Anybody use these in the rivers I looking to get some bigger size ( 5 to 6 inch) minnows style down deeper 10 to 14 feet
I thought about running bigger size rapalas and smithwitcks that go only a couple of feet deep on the norm
Thanks

We've run them in the Aly river and in Raystown Lake...
They seem to get caught a bit more often, so be ready to loose a few lures!

A better choice might be a 3-way swivel rig with a lighter line down to the sinker so if it gets snagged, the lighter leader to the sinker will break and save your lure from getting lost.
Also, you might want to remove the front trebel on 3 hook lures...it seems to reduce the number of "timber snags" that you may encounter in the river situation...just my 2 cents...

You may want to try lead core instead.

doesnt matter what you use on the rivers youre gonna get snags. bottom bouncers/3-way rigs are cheaper than lures but youre still gonna get hung up. a GOOD lure retriever is the most important piece of equipment when youre trolling the rivers. saves a small fortune every time out. just sayin'

dont know. in 20+ years of fishin'/trollin' the rivers i havent needed to use them. use the plugs and a lure retriever and you dont need them. just sayin'

I think he was wanting to get his shallow runners down a bit deeper than what they usually dive to...hence using the bouncer...
