Friday Evening Fishing The Mon

well i went out last night for a few hours after work hoping to catch some walleye and sauger and maybe even some smallies and channels. went to gander mountain to get some shiners and in great anticipation i got back in my truck and sped down the highway to get to one of my favorite spots on the mon. i arrive and catch a couple smallies and one sauger and about 1 hour after arriving i have a bite and set the hook. so after about a half hour 40 minute battle with six pound test i finally land this monster



by far the biggest catch for me on the mon and really made the trip worth it

Nice flat! Soubds like u might have flathead fever now. I caught my first flat a few years ago and ever since thats all i fish for. Had to be fun on such light tackle!

That's a bruiser!  Nice catch. 
 
I haven't wrestled with a flat head in a while, and my salt water gear needs a workout.

my fault guys wasnt taking into consideration of the other ganders around

didnt think it was ever gonna give up, i didnt even know what i had on the other end for about 15 minutes i got it to surface and then i got nervous, 6 lb test size 6 lazer sharp hook never thought i was gonna land it, but after i did it was a huge relief, im glad everyone enjoyed the picture i wish we could of got a better one but it was dark and all i had was my moto droid so we made due with what we had
