Dunlap Lake

Has anyone on here had any luck fishing at Dunlap Lake? I went down there a couple times and all i managed to catch was pound after pound of weeds.  I saw a dead crappie and a dead bass lying near the shore so theres gotta be stuff in there right??

Have actually done very well there. Shore fishing this time of year is tough though. If you have acess to a boat or rent one from the baitshop head to the deeper water near the breast. The local co-op stocks some really big trout.(20-25in) There are also a few and I mean few large walleye or sauger I can't tell the difference. Caught a large one in may and tossed it back. Also some very big bass and carp.

i have a buddy that would fish there every nite. he wouldnt go until at least 10 or 11. he fished the deep water using his fish finder and dipsy divers and just troll. he has more pics. in captn. al of fish 23" and bigger than anybody. he has many 25" and bigger. that lake is over 50' on the **** end. he says when he gets those big ones down deep in the middle of summer that you can barley touch them when you bring them up cause they are so cold.

NightWolf, Cuaght carp on the breast area directly down from the last pavilion. Was using regular cornmeal dough ball and also caught a few on orange power bait. don't know if this helps.

what do the fish naturally eat at a lake like dunlap? Is there baitfish like shad, or do they prey on small bluegill and other panfish, or is their crawfish in there?
