      S4M,

rainy days are the best for the furry critters as long as the wind is not howlin & not a down pour. They
will be active all day not just the mornins & evenins. If it's windy look for them on the forest floor.

      Good Luck

..And then I saw a sheet being let down from Heaven and it contained all the four legged creatures of the Earth. And then the Lord told me "Get up Peter, Kill and Eat."

I always thought the best time to hunt squirrels was right after a good soaking rain when the woods were quiet. I don't target them much anymore but they are good sport and very tastey.

If I agreed with you we would both be wrong

A all day light rain was always best for me. I liked usein the 3''  #4 - 6 shot .410 for em.
The shells are gettin a little too expn. so if I ever go for em again I'll take the .22 cal.

Whenever I drop one I'll just mark it in my mind where it fell. DON'T retrive it till you are done huntin
or are gonna move. It seems movement will put them in hidein more than a gun shot. I would get 2 - 6
most times with out movin from my post.  If you don't have a bushy tail call you can smack 2 quarters
or 2 sm. stones together for a call. I just smack my tounge off the roof of my mouth to call em. Another good trick is to rub a broken branch in the leaves.

Haven't hunted them in years except takin the kids out a few times becauce I hate cleanin them little buggers.
