From Cooks Forest and down to the PFBC Millcreek Launch, I wouldnt run an outboard unless it was a jet, even then I would be careful. Now from Millcreek access down to the dam, the river is quite deep in the main channel, with numerous pleasure boats and jetskis on weekends. You should be ok since its after Labor Day, and boat traffic tends to taper off. Below Millcreek, you can troll for eyes and musky, plus fish for bass and panfish. My uncle likes to target rockbass in the numerous coves. The Clarion has been quite low this summer so getting out of a canoe is a good possibility.

Float trips can be productive for smallies. Usually we start near Route 899 and float down into the state park and sometimes all the way to Cooksburg. I free spool crawlers or minniows with small split shot above the hook. Within the Cooks Forest section, there is alot of boulders and pools behind the boulders... fish these spots. Also take some rebelcraws and rapalas if you spinfish. Jigs might work too but I dont really fish with them. I've seen some guys do real well on the fly for trout but that was eariler in the year. Gravel Lick area might be real shallow at the moment.

from Millcreek heading upstream no more than a mile would be my guess, maybe less with low water conditions.. we never really go upstream at Millcreek with our 120HP 18 foot Four-Winns deck boat. Millcreek to the dam is roughly 7 miles

From the Millcreek launch you can go a little over 2 miles up river.

We used to fish from Bear Creek all the way to below 322 bridge, my parent's house is just below 322 bridge. You can, if you're very careful get quite a ways up in the swift water with an outboard trimmed up. There are a couple of deeper stretches above the first shallow stretch. This time of year with the limited rain it's likely to be real shallow. We used to use our inboard a little up there but that's a little too dicey in that shallow of water. When doing our long floats we used a 2 horse evinrude to "power" back up to re-fish different holes during the whole length of that float. Don't rush from Millcreek launch up to the swift water either, spend a little time trolling I've heard some good reports from locals doing that.
