using leeches in pymi

does anybody use them in the fall on pymi for the eyes and what are the best ways to fish them there. i have fished pymi almost all my life but we never used them. always just stuck to crawlers and chubs

    I would think that as the colder the water gets the less action they would produce.  I only used them years ago before I went to all artifical baits.  I used them when the water was warm in May, June, and July.  A no. 8 short shanked hook and a split shot above that cast and a slow crawl was the ticket.  Some guys will use a floating jig head and split shot. They work really well in rivers during the very hot months of the year.

    I have never used leeches but I was told that they will ball up on the hook when the water temp is below I think 58 degrees.  The warmer the water the more action you will get out of them
