erie trips!!

i was told to post this message out there. we have around 2-3 people that usually go to erie almost every weekend here starting in a couple of weeks(next month). we usually go up around 2-3 in the morning and fish all day and when the "ole" back starts killing us we go and get a hotel to stay for the night only to get up early with a sore back to fish the next day all day, and then head home. Running up almost every weekend takes a hefty toll on the wallet, so were always looking for a couple of guys to split some costs with. If your interested and have some friends post on here or pm me if ya wanna!!

Uh have you checked the water level on he "Nut" lately.   Might be a little high.  Was at 7 feet at 2am.   Right now it's at 5' and over 500cfm.

i checked the nut and brady runs levels--both pretty high as of right now, but it should be perfect overnight. the water is gradually going down, and should be good as long as we don't get dumped on again. been to long and the conditions just seem right, but again i have been known to be wrong a time or 200.

I feel ya! You are at my half way mark.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Hey. i was just up there. Walnut was hot on the 18th. Saw several 8+pounders being caught. I had just got in from trolling walleye and didn't have the right tackle to fish steelies. I can't wait to go. I can go mid week to avoid crowds. Where can I buy a noodle rod around here? I would like at least a 9 footer.

I was just over Gander Mountain in Johnstown the other day and i seen they had a nice selection of noodle rods in all different lengths. They were in the 39 to 49 dollar range. I was gonna get one but i figured i better wait till i know for sure if im gonna go up there for some steel this year or not. Been saying for years im gonna do it but never did. If i do go i end up pulling the boat and fishing the bay for bass, love it up there. Cant beat the spring smallmouth bite!

hey harry-- gander mountain is probably the best place to go for a noodle.  they have 9-11 footers that will hold up-no problem, and they are priced very well actually!!
bigpike-- if you do get the chance to go up---YOU WILL BE HOOKED FOR LIFE!!!

Yeah thats whay i hear lol. " youll love it if you go" My thing is i dont really like big crowds. My brother-inlaw lives right by the grand river in Ohio and i was thinking of going out there and trying my luck. My father-inlaw goes out there all the time and does fairly well on jigs and flies that i tie up for him. He said he mostly has the river to himself. Thats my kind of fishing :)

Try sportsmans liquidation oulet. Hit or miss on noodles in stock, but when they do they are great price. Got mine for 24.95, best price on that model even online was 69.95. I got a 10' 6" South bend model. Absolutely lovin it.
