Maxima 350's

Any of you guys shoot maximas?

I started shooting them last year. Out of the dozen, 5 have broke in the past 3 months. I'm not talking about breaking them by missing the target and hitting a tree or rock, I mean they all cracked at different times as I was pulling them out of a 3D target. I have shot them a lot, considering i've been shooting 3D 2-3 times each week for the past couple of months, and I shot them a lot indoors during the cold months.

Have any of you had similar experiences?

I used to shoot gold tips, which seemed to last forever, and were much less expensive. I may be going back.

I've been using Carbon Impacts for so long I can't remember (10 years maybe), shot 3 deer and 2 groundhogs with the same arrow. I will say that I think 3-D targets can be killer on a carbon arrow. If you don't soap up the penetration area they seem to meld with the target material and are nearly impossible to remove. I can see where they could be breaking from the force needed to remove them, just a thought.

I use arrow lube when I shoot 3D. You're right in saying 3D can be tough on arrows.
