    Good advice Sam.

    When I was in college at Pitt Greensburg, I'd always hit up Twin Lakes between class and work. I was cutting it close one day, got in a hurry, and forgot that I left 4 trout on the stringer in the trunk of my Chevy Caprice. That smelled reaaalllly good after 3 or 4 days of marinating in a plastic bag.

    cats LOVE shrimp...some advice:
    def let them 'ripen' in the sun
    they do float so put a heavy slip sinker about 12" up
    shell them, but leave the tail on
    hook them with the curve at the top (opposite the tail)
    leave just the tip of the hook out
    completely loosen drag
    let them run w/ it....
    ....then BAM!
    reel them in nice and slowly.

    PS: my buddy buys "bait" shrimp at Atlantic Beach in NC...don't know if they are old, or what...but they are big

    When I first thawed these out they stayed on the hook very well,but the ones that I left in the back of the truck for two days fell off of the hook like cooked fish would. Maybe because they were pre-cooked when I bought them? I don't know,but I know that if they were left out any longer you couldn't hook them.Like I said I was just experimenting with them because we used to do very well with fresh crayfish tails for everything except toothy critters.btw crayfish tails are very tasty, boiled or raw.Used to boil up a bunch around the camp-fire back in the day. sam
