I haven't checked out the Southwest forum for a while. Why did the Arthur thread get locked out? I remember that Slipperysmitt took it down one time, but I thought he put it back up. They still have that goofy Oxybob thread.

Every year it seems like one is locked and another is started.  I think you can still access the info with the search feature, if not, the same questions and answers over again...

Bent hook i feel ya man hahaha. Went to topsail nc with my gf a few years ago and ocean fished off the surf city pier for seven nights straight. We fished constantly and all i caught were a few dinky 6" blues. Second to last night at 2 am i left my pole with my gf to take a leak. Told her what to do if she got a bite. Never once thinking that shed get one lol. Needless to say while walking bacck from the bathroom i heard my gf screaming my name and saw a crowd of people around her. I started running and panicking and when i got to her she was holding a three foot baby hammerhead. She hooked the fish just after i left and some guy helped her lift it outa the water. The pure definiyion of bitter sweet lol. So mad and so happy at the same time. Made the trip but i quit fishing after that night haha

  Did you see the white Heron?? It's whiter than White cloud. Young bird from this year. It can still fish purdy good for not being camo. Only one I have ever seen before. Seems like they started the fall draw down. The last 2 seasons they didn't  so must be time for another. If u think it's low now u should see it when it's just a crick & a old farm pond up that way .

Just a heads up,

Boy Scouts  a commin' 24th - 26th, over 11,000. 18,000 people South Shore.

 A guy caught 2 from shore the other day. Both were mid 30". Plan on going Thurs. with my son, hope he lets me target  toothy critters for a hr. or two 

 Workin' on the dang house ,.

Haven't fished it since the day after we saw you & your bud & that was to pull turtle lines. Don't have the energy like I used to. Wanna get out with the boys a couple times before archery comes in up this way. I'll be hitting it a couple times a week by myself in Oct., Nov. & Dec. until the weather gets bad. If u wanna meet up a Mon. - Fri. sometime  I can take the canoe or one ov the boats out. It gets a little tuff trying to boat some ov the bigger ones yourself .

 Did u see the sweet lookin' Blondie fishin' this summer down there ?? Stopped down a couple times a week just to relax & b.s. with fishers & yes there were a good bit ov Pike hitting from what I was told.

 That draw down could be for a winter weed  kill, a project on the lake, keep water flow below the dam for Muddy Creek - S.R.C or just gettin' ready for the spring thaw????

Funny u mentioned the bait tank. Just spent a hr. pulling Lilly Pads from it. They r worse than weeds in a garden. Have to keep up with it every few weeks. Seems the Bull Frogs have invaded & thinned the minnies & chubs out a good bit. Can watch 'em ambush the bait fish from the under edges of boulders. Was thinkin' Timmy put a 2' L/M or a 3' Pike in like previous yrs. .

 Fished from 3pm till 8pm with only a few bass brought to the yak. Biggest was 2lbs.  My bro-in-law thought it would be a good idea to stand up in his yak. He went for a dip and flipped the yak out in the pads. Had a football fields worth of weeds and dying pads to wade through to get back to shore so we could empty all the water from his yak. The full moon was helped. Would of really sucked wadin back with only a head lamp. When he got out of the chest high water he was pullin weeds off him. Looked like Swamp Thing if anyone remembers that old flick. Killed his cell phone but didnt lose any of his gear. This is the same guy who had a treble from a crankbait buried in his cheek a couple weeks back. At least he can say he's been catchin more fish.

Its funny as hell but his mishaps keep cuttin into my fitchin.

Thats a nice bag o fish. Thanks for sharin. Only a few people have been postin lately. Nice to hear about other people's success whiles fishin the Dead Sea. The wind was blowin pretty good yesterday.
 
Been usin soft plastics many flavors and brands but green pump with watermelon flake has been what the fish seem to prefer for me. I havent really been slayin em yet but The big one I yanked from the weeds/pads sure made the past few days worth it. 
 

Tight Lines all!

Went for a couple hours today. Only one decent bass on a spinnerbait. Water was 69 degrees.Can't wait for the water to cool down.

Weekdays work better for me also. Pm me a few days before you wanna go. We can take my 1949 14'er since I will have it out for waterfowl anyways. It's like your own private lake coming soon

Guess you were not kidding about not doing a lot ov archery the early season. Did you get him in the field that you & your son took video. of 18 buck together with some yotes  last summer? Figured u would score early since you are on tv. & in hunting/fishing mags a good bit.

 Hope to get out Mon. for waterfowl with a bud. You guys can just call when wanting to hook up, sometimes I don't  log on for a few days.

Yeah he told me when I got in from fishin' tonight, figured it was too late to call back. I have a canoe & waders in the van. Could meet u in the afternoon sometime. Just give me a call. Been fishin' alone since huntin' season. I'll be taking my youngest son out for the youth doe hunt the rest of the week. Timmy had that monster u were talking about under his stand tonight.
