How many colors? A full core? Fishing for eyes or salmon? What pound test core? Answer these and we can steer ya in the right direction.

Gander Mt has an 8' core rod I believe a lot of guys like. I like the Diawa Heartland 7'6 for my core but I run 27# core. I had 2 full cores with 600' 40# PP backing on Okuma convector 45s but smoked one of the drags in less than a year. The other is holding up OK. I prefer Diawa for the rest of my reels.
