First drum

Caught my very first freshwater drum on Saturday. Was trolling on the Yough by ceder creek park in the deeper water up from the boat launch. caught him(or her) on a jighead with a berkley power grub. i was very surprised when i brought him to the boat.

Sheephead can be very fustrating when walleye fishing. They are known for sucking in a few worm harnesses. However then dive deeper and take more line than a walleye would. After a few tugs and some line coming off the reel, my expectations drop really fast. Head down the Ohio, with a few worms on the bottom. Will keep you busy for a few hours.

Should have kept it and ate it.....they are good eating particularly if the stones in their head are pearly white in color!

I agree, the Drum in the Yough are good eating, not so the ones in Erie!
