Easy access for handicapped

Greensburg area. I am going fishing with a buddy who has a tough time getting around. He uses a walker to go about 50'-100' by himself if the surface is fairly level. I can get him around in his walker/wheelchair if the slope isn't great or distance too far.

Best bet around here is Twin Lakes, both upper & lower have handi-capped piers & rest rooms close to parking. The upper lake on the Vietnam Memmorial side, I think is the best.Make sure you use a handicaapped tag or license plate or you will get tagged. Keystone State Park has a handicapped area, but the rest room is on the other side of the lake. These are 3 of the areas that I use.Mammoth has one also, but in my opinion harder to get to. sam

You've also got the Yough Dam Outflow. It has a handicap access area. Hope you both can get out and enjoy the day. Good luck.

How about some spots in the Pgh area? My neighbor is in the same situation - no walker, but he doesn't amble around like most people. I offer to rent a boat, but he wants to stay on land. Thanks.............

My wife told me that if I didn't stop fishing every day, she'd leave me. Some days, I really miss her.

I used to fish the Aquatorium in Monongahela. You could drive right down to the edge of the pier, also had lights for night fishing as long as rats don't bother you, mostly the 4 legged kind. Variety of fish including bass, catfish, musky,& eyes. Haven't been there in a few years, so I am not sure if it is still an option. sam
