Tionesta Lake

Why is Tionesta such a tough lake?  I do ok on Musky's but the bass seem hidden.  Are there largemouths in the lake?  I know legend has it there are no walleye there.  Any insights?

Spent the weekend up there, got up early this morning to do a bit of trolling...noticed something swimming in the lake, at first I thought a dog.. But didn't look right.. deer.., no..not a deer either.. So I pulled my lines in and headed off to see what it was..Here it was a small black bear crossing the lake !! I got pretty close to it but didn't want get too close..Followed it across the lake where it took off up the bank.. Coolest thing I've seen in a long time.. Too bad the camera was left at camp.. O' did catch several small crappie and a perch..Nothing worth keeping..., But the bear more then made up for it !!

This is one of the toughest lakes to figure out. It is getting worse every year.
