it took me an hour to find them in the river near me, but I ended up with 10 good hits and 4 landed (smallmouth bass). I was wet wading and was SHOCKED at the temperature difference between the areas with current and slower areas just 5 feet away. fast water felt cool while it felt warm just a few feet away.
The areas with deep and narrow channels that had good current was loaded with small fish. The big fish were all in slow pools, out in the open, much to my suprize. Instead of being under a train bridge in 8 feet of water and shade, they were in 3-4 feet in open sun with little cover. Most of the normal areas held no fish at all, they moved to other areas in the heat.
Landed a nice 19" smallie that went about 2.5 lbs. I was fishing from about 11:30 to 1:15.
All but one fish were caught on a white rubber minnow, fished with a 3/8oz white jighead that has a silver spinner spoon on the bottom.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."
