The Adventures of Violentpike....episode 1
Hey guys, I wanted to share my fantastic evening with you. I got my first 15 or 20 fish on a fly. Tonight I took out my new flyrod for the first time since Oil. We went down to our spot and my Dad gave me a few instructions and we picked out a fly. It didn't take long to start catching them. After just a few casts I got my first bluegill. My second fish was a garpike that I lost halfway in. Sux!  After that I caught a ton more BG. 6point7 met us down there and helped me with my casting, thanks duud! We all caught fish, and my Dad landed a gar. My dad and 6point even had a bass double on spingear. I also caught a bass and missed a northern pike. I had a really good time fishing the flyrod, and now I'm a double threat! So far for me this year has been really good and I look forward to learning more about all kinds of fishing. Thanks to everybody who made this possible...esspecially Skip and Troutabout. I really love my custom rods. Till next time here are my pics, 6point seven is supposed to post some more. Well we had a great time and my dad did just as good as me because he got the big and ugly prize with a decent amount of bass and an ugly gar.

As well as VP did....I couldn't wait to get my other kid out after em. I thought about it all day...I put her in her brothers boots (her first time in hipboots), and we headed out tonight with spingear...and weren't doin so hot. 6P7 showed up, with spin and flygear. Happyfish (my 9 yr old daughter) was watchin 6p7 pretty intently as he flyfished...and he offered her his rig, and gave her a qiuck rollcast lesson. She started flippin it around pretty good from the gate. She waded around like a champ, flipping and casting...watching the bug ontop of the water. It didn't take long for her to get on em'. She outfished us both with 15 good gills to hand...and 20-30 misses. My snagger army grows again....first we take the bay....then the WORLD! Great job kids!

Yeah slick I have a few sets of kids neo waders down here Brandon has been outgrowing a pair a year till I made him wear a pair of large. When he outgrows them he'll be old enough to buy his own! LOL I think I have a pair or two of wading shoes too.

oh oh, i see a brother sister rivalry. i see a new fly fishing rod in the future for the gal. great to see ya getting all the kids involved!! maybe it's time to show one of them how to tie flies and poppers

Happyfish LOVES to tie flies! She literally BEGS to tie. Mostly "interesting" streamers is what we've tied. Me teaching my kids to tie and fly is like the blind leading....the blinder.  As long as they are enjoyin' it...i'll keep em on it.
