That brings back memories of when my dad used to take me bass fishing in the pitch black night with jitterbugs.....I miss him every day....spend every day like its your last....

My dad did the same with me.... I remember being 7-8 and so tired but it was pitch black out and a looonnngg walk back to the house (and I was afraid of the dark)  and dad was not ready to be done yet...... all I remember him saying is one last cast..... then a few more..... then "one last cast"  then a few more....... I am going to get him out this summer, pick up a few red and white jitter bugs and see what damage we can do.

I'm takin' the kid out to fish his flyrod tonight...gonna try some panfish.

Funny note...he doesn't call his rigs fishin' poles...even goes as far as to correct me when I call them that....

They're his "custom rods".



I don't always snag fish, but when I do...

mr slickfish i hope you and the boy do great together out there fishing. and remember v.p. a day spent on the water with dad is way better than a day spent doing nothing but playing vidieo games. my son doesnt fish much with me he is busy with h.s.football and h.s. baseball but when we do get out we sure have one heck of a good time even if we dont catch anything. and as for the rest of you guys i am new here and have not met any one yet but what you have done is avery special thing that warms my heart and soul. i hope to meet all of you someday you sure seem like a special bunch of guys.
