Cell Phone Coverage

Anyone know for sure how far out on the lake from Presque Isle cell phones work? I am sure some providers are different but I was curious what opinions are.

how much further can you go till you hit canadian waters and what are you catching way out there? (i dont have a boat to fish on the lake, so I don't know)

hmm lol, are slimers another name for lake trout or steelhead?

the slimiest thing I have ever caught outta that lake were the gobies. Those buggers are smooth and slimy.

I was out near the Canadian line from Lampe and I got service out there before, I have Verizon.

When you get to the launch update your towers so that you are linked to the closest tower. Dial *228 and push option 2. I don't know if this works for any provders other than Verizon.

In N.Y. my Verizon usually works out past the Canadian border, but I've been onshore and seen my provider as Rogers (Canada) ?? . Verizon didn't charge me roaming so I didn't have to call and fight with them about it. Maybe my plan includes Canada ?

Your make and model of phone makes some difference also.
If it can use an external antenna get one for it.
On Kinzua the only area my cell works is at the dam near the log float and at the upper side of Willow Bay's launch ramp.
The external antenna adds 1 bar in those areas.
