First Pike

Froze my butt off at Presque Isle this morning but got into my first pike. 34" long and fought like crazy. Nothin' like hearing that drag scream after setting the hook. Never really went for them specifically but I definitely will be now. No picture (sorry Slick) was too excited and wanted to get him/her back in the water.

    Way to go duud....hope it's the first of many. Not much compares to the initial headshake on a good pike. Never a question on what it is....you'll know.

    I don't always snag fish, but when I do...

    nice pike, glad you were fast about releasing it.
    The pike are just starting to come back after the 2004 pike kill in the bay.
    still never heard what killed them, i REMEMBER SEEING 100'S Of them dead around the lagoon entrance.
