One Fly Trip

Before I say anything, a huge thank you to both skip and indsguiz. Back in Oct., at the One Fly, they gave me the prize guided trip.. Seriously, I don't think either of you guys know how grateful I am. I knew the experience alone would be great, and it was. The thought and care all of you guys put into the event is pretty amazing. I'm hoping to throw in a box full of flies and maybe some other things for this Falls event.. But it won't even come close to the experience and fish I've recieved from you fellas.. Thank you.

I talked to Greg on the phone earlier in the year, and my dad spoke to him earlier in the week.. We were deadset on throwing flies for the few steelhead that still remained. Plan was to get up there at 6, fish, eat.

Friday night rolled around.. Wasn't able to go out at all. Stayed on skype til late and regretted it in the AM.. 3 rolled around quick.
Did whatever in the morning (dont remember at all), passed out in the car.. hit 79 and rolled in early.
I woke up, half asleep and dazed, and we were off with the guide..

The rod felt good, the fish were on too. Here old man took a nice fish.

spawned out fish.. crazy fight. this thing exploded on a swung streamer.. will never forget it.

love glove time.. caught this fish 3x over. Seriously, took 3 patterns and landed 3 times.

things wound down.. got lucky with some fish in faster water. Awesome watching old man slay a few fish.

Now when things got interesting.. Hookset, no run. Log? Nah, just a carp. Awesome fight.. so much respect for this fish. Held its ground and showed strength. Though, is it a carp? Love the sh1t eating grin, haha!

Overall, just a great time. +10 hours on the water.. Can't complain. Took some fish, and learned a few things..

Thanks SO much to Greg Senyo, Jack, Skip, and all of you guys..

Aaron, So glad you enjoyed the trip. And what makes it even nicer is the fact that you took pix and wrote about it. BIG thanks to Greg Senyo for donating this trip for a father/child. And that is a nice carp! The sh!* eating grin is one of the major reasons why I started the "One Fly". See you on Columbus Day Weekend!

Haven't touched the table in a couple months.. Using what I build up in Jan-Feb. Hoping to get back into it and tie up some for this summer and the one fly..

Nice pics. When you say "old man" do you mean your father?

Thanks for all the great comments. I keep looking at these and the ones at the one fly.. such great times.

    I'll comment.......sNaGr

J/K   I've caught the same pike that broke me off on the first cast after retying, sweet to get my lure back outta his head

I do have a question about that....Did you catch that fish 3 drifts in a row, or was there time lapse inbetween? Either way...thats pretty cool. Your either really good, or that fish was really hungry...I'm guessin your THAT good duud.

Yes, caught the same sthd 3x on the Catt. in one day. Have had this happen twice, 2 different years. It's fairly common to catch the same sthd twice, 3x is very unusual.
