Not too common but dont tell that to Mr.Slickfish. He seems to find em every year. Better yet they find him  Ive only caught 1 my entire life fishing. That was 7 years ago and at the time I had no idea what it was. Im hoping to hook up and land another one sometime soon. That being the next 7 years. As far as the size, they seem to average 5 to 7 pounds. Ive seen pics of Slick's that hes caught. Prehistoric lookin things.

Slick you still gots that pic?, if so post it up duud.

I watched River Monsters this week about snakeheads. they showed a map of the snakeheads range and Pa was totally covered.
I wonder if erie has any snakeheads, never heard of any.

Went out around 11am today. Got 6 or 7 bass with 2 of them being pretty nice sized. Plastics seemed to work the best today, maybe because of all the chop on the surface. Had trouble hooking fish with my plastic setup though, probably had 5-7 fish completely engulf my bait and still didnt get a good hookup on them.

Also saw 3 more bowfin today, two of them were pretty big looking and I also caught this picture of what appears to be one spawning. He was completely surrounded by weeds in about 4 inches of water.

The male's mouth and underbelly turn an ungodly flourescent green during the spawn.  I've always wanted to catch one while they were glowing, but never have.

The one in the picture had a pretty bright spot near its tail, but that may be there all the time. It was acting kinda weird like it was sitting on a nest, I poked at it with my rod and it didnt flinch. It took off when I kicked it though
