ORIGINAL: beerman It appears that Sunday, May 16th is obviously the most popular date to have the outing, so let's go with it. Most usually fish in the morning, then we meet around noon at one of the pavilions beside the creek, once you travel over the steel bridge at Petroleum Center. (Oil Creek State Park) It time for a roll call of those planning on attending and what you can bring (food, plates, etc.) to the picnic Sunday, May 16th. I will update this list daily. 1) beerman - pop + water 2) Mikastorm - hamburgers 3) tank7791 - chips 4) Loopy - brownies 5) indisquiz - teriaki marinated, thinly sliced, flank steak + some kaiser rolls 6) bulldog1 - jalapeno potato caserole 7) Mr. Slickfish - antipasto salad 8) BloodyHand - veggie tray 9) 6point7 - meat + cheese tray 10) deetz4352 - chicken wing dip + chips 11) rippinlip - cookies 12) cold - plates, napkins, utensils, etc. 13) doubletaper - lilsmokies in BQ sauce 14) skip16503 - shrimp on the barbie 15) rapala11 - macaroni salad or potatoe salad 16) Dallas - baked beans 17) troutslammer - taco dip chips + pop 18) Bing - hotdogs, buns + condiments 19) Mossy Oak - brownies 20) Dano - 21) pxatim - charcoal 22) DreamCatcher - pop 23) fishenfool46 - 24) SteelJunkie - cookies 25) Krott243 - coleslaw 26) byahn32 - 27) Chili Pepper - chili, bowls + spoons 28) violent pike - burgers + dogs 29) rookie 5781 - Updated list as of Wed., April 14th

You dudes are going to have an incredible time up, weather permitting. Dropped in at the petroleum center this morning, barely any guys, and the biggest blanket of early caddis I've ever laid eyes upon. Fish were munching on shucks and emergers, not adults... I'm somehow managed all fish on size 14 sulphurs in the early/late afternoon (despite no mayflies in sight), and cdc blank ant parachutes at dusk. Guys were doing very, very well on dry/droppers, specifically underwater... An older gent made sure I knew every time he hooked up while nymphing with an indicator in a riffle, I gave him thumbs up and smiled... ... I remember my first beer Threw dries all day.. my arms are literally sore. We didn't even walk much farther then the bridge, as there were groups of bows and browns rising at a constant throughout the day so close to the vehicles. My kind of day after hiking a few miles up a wild brown stretch at 7 am prior to hitting Oil. Caddis hatched from sun up until dark as well. Can't wait to see pics from the outing. I will be in the Titusville area that weekend for an annual family trip, but will most likely be on sugar.

Earlier I mentioned that there was a possibility I may be able to make it here...accepted a new position @ work this week (easier on the shoulder) and because of it - I had to switch some vacation days around which resulted in the wife and I being out of town that weekend. So anyway - I'll most certainly be missing a great time ! and a chance to meet alot of you. Hope to see ya all at the One Fly!

I've only fished Oil Creek a few times and have always got skunked. I was planning on chucking a small Kastmaster on the 16th. Should I forget it and bring the fly rod? Any help would be appreciated.

OK guys, Here's an interesting question. Normally whenever I make marinated steak for cooking/sandwiches I marinate the meat for 3-4 days in the fridge. But since I'm going to be travelling from KY with a load of meat should I freeze it while it's mariniating, or wait till 4 days before and let it stew in the car? there is a chance with long term mariniating that the meat could become "acid cooked" by the chemicals in the sauce. I think the cooking word is to cook using acid. I don't want to bring up 10-15 pounds of stew meat. So has anybody marinated and frozen meat before. I have with BBQ sauce but never Teriaki.

I'm not going to be able to make the outing . Spring soccer schedules came out over the weekend and my son has a game in Coudersport on the outing day. I would talk to his coach and try to get him out for one game, but the last time I talked to myself I didn't listen anyway. (Yep, I'm the coach). We only have 2 subs on the team on a good day and I had one player already tell me that they'd be gone that week. Don't worry Jack, I'm trying to find a ride for your rods and Slickfish has a radio on the way. Make sure to have a cold one for me...

ORIGINAL: pxatim what should I be tying for that weekend? What bugs will be coming off? Green caddis, olive caddis, tan caddis, march browns, gray foxes, yellow crane flies, maybe some sulphurs hopefully. Bwo's if the weather is off. Just hope they're not all on the water at the same time.
