RE: Ice Fishing Safety Tips.
Those were good tips. But here's a few of mine from over the years as well.
3.5" of ice minimum. No exceptions !
Never fish alone, If you are the last angler on the ice, LEAVE
Carry somekind of ice picks around your neck in case you go in.(Mine has retractable covers on them to prevent injury)
Carry a cell phone, air horn or whistle with you in case of emergencies.
Carry a throw rope, I use an old ski rope, the handle will be easy for the victim to hang to, it floats. Put a clip on your end, you can clip it around your waist for better leverage.
A change of clothes left in the car, they can save your life !
And finally, no fish is worth your life or risking others that might have to save you. If you need fish that bad, go to Long John's and buy a dinner.
