Sat 11/7 bassin ... WOW is all i can say !

Let me start this post by saying THANK YOU to Duane !!!!
 
 
So me and Duane spent a few weeks chasing smallies around on res boat and last week he mentioned an out of the way spot that he has landed a few monster bass. Just hearing those 2 words together really got my attention ... so i'm like when we going  ??? LOL
 
 
We made plans during the week, even though it was in the 20's last night we figured lets start a little later. So we hit the water a little after 10am. I was all dressed up with the fleece jeans, had gloves and winter hat in the bag, but it was very nice out for mid 40's. Lots of sun even though it got a little windy.
 
 
 
So on to fishing, Duane bangs out a quick couple avg guys on the fluke ...
 

 
 
I chuck the monster swimbait a few times and pick one avg guy up. We continue along with a few shorties here and there. At this point i have switched to the jig and the fish were jumping all over it !!

Since they were liking the jig and Duane never really fished one, he figured why not try it out ?!?

Now we were having a blast, nice weather lots of active fish ... however Duane did tell me NOT to forget the scale and camera !!! Boy what a great suggestion .... because things were about to get AWESOME !!!
 
 
 
 
 
I get a solid wack and know right a way this fish has some weight ... see a nice solid flash in the water, we didn't have a net so i was a little worried about losing it. I get a hand on it and i am stoked !!

We were very pleased now. So we keep plugging along and this pig joins us ...

In between all these lunkers we were still landing a number of solid 2-3lbers ... we never counted
but boated well over 30 fish ... in just 4 hours.
 
 
 
 
Duane just couldn't hook up with a bigger one but i could tell he was really liking the jig fishing
 
So we keep pressing on ...

UNTIL THIS GIRL took his jig !!!!
We saw lots of body and realized thig was now the best of the day ... definately 7+ !!!

We ended up banging out a few more avg ones and called it a day.
 
Hands down the best ever day of bass fishing for me !!!

were you guys fishin in a bass hatchery or something, thats some awesome stuff, great pics as always.

What do you use there Brian--- a 1/2 oz jig with a craw trailer?  I'll have to learn that from you sometime, I never seem to catch any with those things. Add to the list of many things I don't catch fish with.

That was nuts !

We all have our fav species and there are a number of multi-species guy here. But my biggest passion is Stripers and then hunting LMB !!! I really can't even explain how i felt today !!! I even said to Duane ... it's was just f-ing stupid ... in a GOOD way

I just cant stop looking at this thread. Everytime I do i get a huge smile on my face. I am really thinking about making a return trip in a bit. I just think that BB got all the big ones on me

Duane I don't blame you 1 bit for going back and looking over & over at those pic's. I always look at that bass I iced last year and man I sure wish we had a scale. At first I called it 5lbs then 6 & now I feel it was well in the 7 range..

Hope you don't mind but I gave your pic's a little light so we can really see that beast !!!

Wow is right BB and Duane!!! Looks like you got a great LMB fishery there. Supposed to be 66 tomorrow. And I already put my boat away.

I think your successes are even more impressive since this has been arguably the worst week of fishing this year for me.   I put in several days on the water on local lakes and have very little to show for it.
 
One walleye the other night on Snyders.  And one tiny pickerel on Saturday on Glass...
 
I have lost some fish this past week- but for the most part it has been miserable.
 
I was actually going to post a thread about my "Worst Week Ever" until I read your post reagrding your BEST trip.

It won't be long until Duane has a Lunkerville sticker on the back of his truck too.  AWESOME FISH!
 

nice Bass pics Brian !!! Largemouth bass have there distinct largemouth bass smell..ever notice that scent? Not quite as fishy stinking as a big slimmy brown or bow. I use to have access to private ponds in jersey for those size..it was fun using the plastics and rebel pop'rs cheers!
