Clean the river bed ?

I was just wondering.... should we take advantage of this low water and clean the river bed ? My bet is that there is a lot of trash, old birdsnests and lead that is now exposed and could be cleaned out. Has anyone though of spearheading a clean up ? I'm not local so I would not be able to participate but thought I might suggest the idea. All thoughts welcome.

A nice thought, but I wouldn't think the timing would be very good. Just my opinion.

I know where they can take a large bird nest out in the DSR. I sure added to it last year.

Salmo... Why would this be bad timing ? The river bed is exposed is'nt it ? Hopefuly we wont see water this low again for a long time... why not take advantage of it ?

Have you fished there in Salmon Season? There isn't enough room to get a good drift due to all the people let alone pick up trash.

From all the reading I have been doing it seems like there are very few people up there right now... Am I mistaken ? I usually dont go up until the end of October to avoid all the meatheads.

I fish the SR about 20 days a yr and every trip I take a wal -mart bag to put up the trash around my area I'm in .And it has carried on because now I see a few other anglers doing the same a little bag goes a long way in the property owners eyes.

Thats a great example for people to follow. I fill vest pockets usually.

I should think last weekend would have started a migration of people with rods.
A clean up would be a good thing. I'm not able to do it due to work, but it would be fun.
