Shoots and Scores

Well, the PA buck season has come and gone for me again. I was fotunate to put a tag on this guy when he came trailing a doe. He grosses in the mid 150's and dressed out at 202 lbs. He is easily my best PA buck to date.

Griff;  What WMU in Alberta were you hunting in?  Just Kidding; I have hunted in Alberta and your buck has the look of some of those. Great deer !! Not jealous; just envious. Been slinging arrows since 1964 and still waiting for a buck like yours. Again; congrats.

Thanks Guys, as far as measurements, he was weighed on a butcher's scale (really didn't want to guess the weight, but I had a feeling he would be close to 200). For mass, his bases were right at 7 inches and he held 6 inches on the last one. For what it is worth, he was shot on private property in SWPA. Now it is off to Ohio for the remainder.

One other thing I should have mentioned (always a hot topic)- He was shot with a HellRaiser 3 blade fixed broadhead. I did not get a pass through due to the far shoulder, but the internal damage of three razors going back and forth as he ran was absolutely devastating. Also, the blades were still like razors when he died. I learned that real quick when one of my fingers tips touched one during field dressing, OUCH .

52 inches of mass is awesome for a Pa. buck.  Great buck again.

Not surprising he's got no broken tines, ea griff ?    Nice sized deer to boot.  Congratulations.

Jeremy, LMAO... You are not the first one to say that about the resemblence. A mutual friend "The Cripp" was one who also mentioned it. I shared a very funny story with him that I will tell you someday if we ever get to fish or hunt together about that very topic. Really, I have been fortunate to gain access to some great properties and have been blessed with enough time to actually pursue the deer that live on them. Good luck this fall- aim small miss small...
