Yellow Creek Lake

Anyone fishing it lately? Any fish willing to bite? Heading there on Sunday for the first time this year (work stinks) and hoping for some encouraging comments. Thanks in advance!

Three of us fished Yellow Creek yesterday from 1:00 PM to 7:00PM.  Caught a total of 5 bluegill, 2 bass, 1 pike (26") and a musky (20").  All fish were caught on minnows and shiners.  Pretty slow day.  Weather was awesome though.

Anyone know if there are any decent carp (10-20+lbs.) in this lake?

Not sure about this lake, but there is a small resevoir on Yellow Creek itself, that is full of carp.  It is a good hike, and not sure if it is legal to fish anymore.  If you are familiar with 6th St. - Indiana, PA, either park where the road goes over Yellow Creek and walk about 2 miles up, or park at the Ferrier's Run Access and walk about 1.5 miles down stream.  There are some huge trout and some pike in there too.  I think it owned by the Homer City water supply.  I remember seeing a bunch of huge carp in there.  I'd imagine that Yellow Creek Lake has carp then.

YC Lake has huge carp in it but I rarely see anyone fishing for them. The dam that pork is talking about is best accessed from Rt. 954, which becomes 6th street in Indiana. Getting to it and back from Ferriers Run can be a real chore.
They used to bust kids for swimming and partying on the dam itself, have never heard of anyone getting hassled for just fishing the shorelines. Anything that is in YC lake is in there. You might even find a few of Renosky's trophy trout that got swept over the coffer dam about 2 1/2 miles upstream.

I fish this quite often and they finally posted the **** itself. I guess the kids partying must of ruined it. You can find carp in any area of yellowcreek including the streams. Ive hooked many carp trying for trout and bass.
