What a morning !
Since mid week me and Lance have been trying to come up with a game plan for weekend fishing. Since we were looking at rain & overcast most the day we settled on trying to troll up some trout locally. We hit the lauch right at light and a light rain, little breeze. We had the rain gear on as soon as we got out of the truck.
Get set up, make one pass, one hit no fish. Make the turn and i get my PB Rainbow 14.5"
only the 2nd bow i have ever caught !! We continue with little results and know we have to target the same small area i picked up the 1st fish. Instantly a keeper brown meets the net. We stayed on this small area where fish were just jumping constantly ... ended up boating 10 trout in the next 2 hours. We kept our limit of 6 all over 12" !! It was a lot of fun. I was very happy playing
"Trouting-Brian" today
Rain was on and off only got really bad for 10mins or so.
We were not sure how the trout were going be so the back up plan was to pack a bass rod or two.
We got our gear in order and started bass fishing around 10-10:30
Right off the bat i get a couple on the spinnerbait and Lance starts banging them out on a jig. All avg guys but they were pretty aggressive and willing to play along. We have fished here before and knew there were plenty of 1-3lbers around. Always wondered if that place could hold a few "good ones" ....
Well , not 10mins into targeting the bass my spinner bait gets crushed !!! We see 1/2 jump and the head was huge !!!
Ended up with this long 23.5" LM , just a few ounces under 6lbs !!!
My best so for 2009
Talk about putting the icing on the cake !!! I was STOKED !!! Still am.
We ended up putting about 20 bass in the boat in under 2 hours.
What a morning, one of my most productive fishing trips. I got my PB Bow and haven't caught any Browns in a long time. Plus my 2009 best Bass to top it off !!! I always have a great time fishing with Lance too.
Here are the unfortunate ones that met the stringer ...
I know Lance has a few other shots he post later. He was heading out for an afternoon trip.
Now it's tomato soup & grilled cheese to warm me up on the inside.
Thanks for looking,
BB
