Pymy report

Spent all day yesterday fishing this blessed lake. The water on the south end was very muddy, the sun was very hot. We drift fished, anchored and even slow trolled. After eight hours all we had to show for our valiant effort was a dozen perch that would have been great Muskie bait. What am I doing wrong and why does this alke hate me so?

on your end, you are doing nothing wrong.  the walleye population is way down.  has been a problem there for a few years.  a few experienced anglers like treefrog have the lake figured out, but it i a course in frustration.  as we enter sept. the smallmouth turn on again.  we wade the bars throwing smaller rapalas.  seems the best action occurs from 6:30 or so until just before dark.  plan to start back up there this weekend.  if i find them, i will post.

I think that lake hates me too. I've camped at Jamestown and fished the shore, and lately from a boat in that area for bass, and never had much luck. I can remember when that lake was the premier fishing lake in this end of the state, Im not sure that is true anymore. Still a beautifule lake though.

I am looking forward to the smallie bite. I just love the fight of the 3lb + on an ultralight. Chartreuse rapala's seem to be my favorite and a white curlytail grub and jig. I use a chubb grubb 4''.
