Honest SR REPORT

Fished SR 14th thru 18th. Water is still low and a bit warm 62-67 depending upon what part of the river you fish.

You have to cover a good amount of water to get a lot of hook-ups. Somes days I had none all morning, and then some days I was on to pods of fish. With the low water and temps, the fish will mostly stay together in pods, so you may find water that has no fish and then find a large group of 50 -200. Down low(dsr) some good days with bright fish moving in groups of 2-4, sometimes more. Really hot and good fighters, mostly Coho and Kings with some large Browns mixed in. Mid and upriver there are Cohos and quite a few Browns around, but as I said, you've got to fish for them, forget about covering water and hoping to sight fish. The large pods of Kings that came in over Labor Day are hiding out in one very large pod.

This is actually good fishing, no large blasts of runs to gather crowds, just a nice steady trickle of fish, they are there, just fish for them like your fishing for trout and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Tight Lines,

Nice job and good report. Thankx for posting. I can only load one pic per post also. If you download them all on photo bucket, pretty sure you can do multiple pics on a post.

Old Salt you did well. As you said if you put in the miles you could find some fish.
We stuck sat out 12 hrs in DSR and had a grand total of 4 fish go past us. 2 of which we were able to at least make 3 casts to before they moved on. It was dead sat. Fri & sunday we hit the UFZ and again slow was the word..

    Tuna,

That first pic is a summer run Skamania that slammed my streamer in the UFZ on 9/14. Went about 9 pounds.

UFZ can be tough fishing at times, but I've caught more Atlantic's and Skam's there than most other parts of the river.

    Good luck.

Caught three Coho on the UFZ Sun and today hooked into about 7 browns and one steely on the LFZ,only salmon being hooked were lifted by a couple yahoos in the cemetery pool.DSR had a push of fish today and I might try that tomorrow.
