Smallie action over the last couple days

Well over the last week or so I have made a couple of trips to the Columbiaville Creek off of the Hudson searching for what may be my new favorite fish the Smallie. I havent been able to spend as much time on the water as I would have liked to, but the couple hours each over three days was enough to make me happy. The action has been pretty good with some decent fish being caught. I am going to try to post some pictures but I havent done it before so here goes nothing. Also for some reason I dont have a tape on the boat but I do have a scale and the heaviest one weighed in at roght around 2 and a half pounds. I put them next to the tackle box to get a better idea of thier size. The box measures 18 inches from buckle on the side to the other buckle. So most of the fish would have been in the 16-17 inch range with one being around 19 or so. Hope this works and enjoy fellas.

Smallies are a lot of fun no matter what size ! The attachments came out fine.

Nice fish, you some size and looks like you caught a bunch too.

What lures/tactics were working for you ?

    ....

Ok as for putting the pics right in the post ... you are real close man, don't give up !

Just right click and copy your same attachment code you have in your post, click the add image
option (just above where you type messages) the small yellow box all the way to the right (you should get a pop-up box) ... just paste what you copied into that box and hit ok ! It will come out just like below

    Hope that helps !

Thanks for the info BB. As for my tactics if you can call them that, a couple fish were taken near some down trees with the good ol' stanley ribbit frog. But the majority were taken with my new go to lure the 4" berkley powertube. I believe the color is called smoke, but it is pretty much just a brown tube with some silver flake in it. It works great for me, its about all I used at JJ2.

Cool, can't wait for the 2010 season !

Once the run is over it's pretty quiet, it gets really busy come March or so.
But check out a bunch our catches from this past season in the old post

Nice fish bro!  Since Jimmy Jam I picked up some tubes and have had great luck with them.  The ones I got are coffee infused, and look pretty much like the ones you were using  that day. I have used them weedless on topwater and jiggin' on a weighted jighead and caught fish.  Dude, you were right, those things are incredible!

Showing up is 88% of life!
