No, think of the farmers that have to deal with them. All they do is make a mess and **** everywhere.

    Did this happen to you?
I turned myself into the game comm. several years ago after shooting a swan. Yes, it's true. Snow Geese were flying over the lake that morning and this young swan, which I accidently mistaken for one, came in and I blasted it. I'm to consciences about things like this, so I turned myself in and paid a $100 fine. I'd also keep an illegal deer and face what ever comes my way as well. I wouldn't just let it lay in the woods. That's simply wrong.
As for your question about turning in the poachers, I like to say yes I would. But don't be to aggresive or pushy with them. Remember, they have guns too and it's not worth dieing over, it's only an animal. Try to get as much info about them as possible, but only from a distance. If you confront them, they'll most likely will become defensive towards you. Try to get a car license plate number, make and model and turn it in.That's pretty much all you can do.

As for the crapping issue, Just remember, "you crap too." LOL

Yep... and wouldn't lose a minute of sleep about it. If it was an accident, let the legal system deal with it. No difference between this and poaching any other animal.

If it was a Canada goose, then no way, no way, no way.  Those s*** bags need some culling.  If the person in question smoked the whole flock then buy them a beer.

... and we wonder why sportsmen are given a bad name. Probably some of the absolute dumbest statements I have ever read (or heard). I wonder how many of you would have been in favor of poaching deer 5-10 years ago when their populations were skyhigh in the state. Maybe, since there are so many steelheads in the streams we should allow people to keep as many as they want. I can guarantee this, let my group see you pull the trigger on a bird illegally and we will be hunting your blind and ours for the rest of the season, since you will not be needing it once we call the authorities. What a bunch of ****clowns, no wonder I stopped posting on this site.

it's self righteous folks who think they need police others that are the most shameful.

i expected my exaggerated satirical comment to bring out the haters.  truth be told, i'd be extremely upset if my neighbor turned me in for knocking a red squirrel off the bird feeder with a pellet gun.

Comparing apples to orange.  Fore geese there may be a little confusion for some with a 3 zone spilt along with hunting different flyway zones.

IMO getting confused and shooting a bird in this case wouldn't be a big deal (but illegal).  Its the people that line a pond in the summertime and destroy the whole village that I have a problem with(most of them don't even have hunting licenses).

My serious reply is....it depends on the circumstances.

If this deed was done out of nuisance with no safety concerns, then I'd mind my own business.  Depending on the severity of random waste, cruelty, or safety, etc, I might be inclined to pass along the info.

I don't believe there are hard and perfect work-for-everyone rules here.  There's a lot of gray area in my opinion.  Not everything is black and white, right and wrong.  I'm no angel.  I've bent or broken a game law or two before.  Me personally, I would not be hypocritical of someone else for something I might also do at a time of poor judgment.  We all have our moments.  Those without sin can go ahead and pass all the judgment they want.  That is until their halo slips down about a foot.

Poaching is stealing no matter who does it or why they do it.  I'm glad that those of you who said no are not my neighbors. You probably wouldn't want to call the police if you saw someone breaking into my house either.

Actually I'd make sure it wasn't you breaking into your house because you locked yourself out.  I hear that can start all kinds of worthless controversy.

Anyway, I'm not on here to start forum wars.  Someone was looking for an opinion w/o adding a lot of detail so he received a wide variety of replies.  Judging by the some of the responses here, I'm glad we're not neighbors too.
