What is this egg pattern called?

I'm know this looks like a really simple pattern, but I can't find it after searching the internet. Anybody know the name of this? I tried tying it, but I'm fairly new to tying and the loops are always too tight or too loose. Any suggestions for tying? Thanks for any responses and heres some pics. Hard to get a really detailed shot.

Thanks to Pxatim for his explanation on how to post pics back in january on the "how to post pics on fisherie.com" topic. You made it easy man.

For sure made of glo yarn and it looks like a sucker spawn, but thats what I like to call scrambled eggs.

I didn't think it was scrambled eggs because all the pics online that I saw seemed like the loops were tied tighter and there were more of them. I guess the one I posted is just another variation of it. Pxatim, were you saying it is maybe a variation of a glo bug and sucker spawn?

A tyer by the name of Jeff Blood who I believe works for Regal Vise, came up with a pattern that looks just like that. He calls it the Blood Dot and it's tied with  Glo Bug Yarn with one small loop/bump at the bend, then a slightly different color yarn strand tied straight up, then one more larger bump/loop in the front. Gives it great translucency and is quite effective.  kind of like a sucker spawn. FFM has an article here:   http://www.flyfisherman.com/ftb/ffmbeststeel/index1.html

    egg and apricot blood dot.
You are using too thick of a piece of yarn. they seem to be more effective tied sparse.
per Jeff Blood; 1/6 diameter  for #14 and #16's and keep the loops small. 1/4 diameter for #12
also, try using micro size egg yarn for the dot.
    2 loops - dot-1 or 2 loops. tie off.
It helps to fold the yarn over a bodkin while forming the loops. It will help to keep the yarn even.

It's the the Blood Dot egg pattern.
    Tyed orginally by Jeff Blood.

chicken blood in the air, put it back
in the box, for if it is evil you seek,

    same.

Last spring I had the opportunity to meet Jeff Blood at a steelhead seminar that I went to and he was tying the Blood Dot. He sat down with me and showed me how he ties it. He said the thing about the blood dot is that it sinks rapidly unlike the Glo Bugs and that the translucency of it is what makes it popular. He said that although it is quite easy to tie - the most important part of it is to use a small rear bump or loop - thus use a toothpick or bodkin like Dano said. Anyway here is a short tutoral that kind of describes how Mr. Blood ties it. It's tied on a larger hook for clarity. Hope this helps.

    Hook - Daiichi x-point  x-510  size 10 - 14 or equiv.
Glo Bug yarn is best for the translucency. Stripped to the correct size. I used McFly foam for the middle strand. (didn't have the correct color Glo Bug Yarn for this)

A picture showing the stripped yarn:

Tie in the rear lighter color yarn at the bend of the hook.

Using a bodkin or toothpick form a small loop or bump and tie in.

Tie in the darker colored yarn for the "eye"

Using a bodkin or toothpick, form a slightly larger loop for the front "bump" or loop and tie in.

The finished Blood Dot looking from the top down after trimming off the darker colored strand you tied in between the loops.

Thanks for the help guys. Steely, your pics and explanation really helped. I know this seemed like a stupid post about an easy tie, but I just couldn't figure out how to get the loops right.......I'm sure the toothpick will work well.

No problem Carpy - glad I could help. And it wasn't a stupid post. You can use a toothpick to make sucker spawn loops too - makes them nice and tight - if that's what you want.

Here's another suggestion.  Take a paper clip and straighten it out then make the loop over the clip, you will find that the clip slides out very smoothly.
