couple of rod pics ..eye candy

Now you know why 'I' don't get to fish as much as I'd like..too much time in the shop..LOL!!!

.................

Pair of 10' trolling rods..( surf blanks)for in line planers. the long rods are set most forward in the pattern, this keeps the lines out & away fro mother lines...

they work !!

In ten years I see fully lighted rods that glow more as stress is applied to the rod. Then it will take a picture of the fish and send it straight to your Facebook along with the length, species and weight along with the exact time of catch.

I am suprised a heated eyes rod isn't already out there. I wouldn't think that would be too tough to do.

If I would have asked what everyone wanted, they would have responded that they wanted a better horse....Henry Ford

well if hes doing that kinda rod work chances are he has a power wrapper with a 45 degree offset to do the chevrons, with that thing it makes it easy!  I agree though, im not into that glitzy rod work either, but it does take some serious talent to do that stuff.  I build rods that are durable for catching fish, not to have people look at me like an expert but to each his own.

I had a guy in central pa come up to me and tell me all about his "parabolic custom action feather inlayed silk transparent wrap agate stripper bamboo stick" that he paid 2000 dollars for and when he asked me what kind of rod I had I simply replied, "a brown one"....

For some, the price of their rod or how pretty it looks is priority.  For me, I primarily care about the fact that they have the right action/length/quality to take care of whatever job they are meant for.  Bottom line for me is - will they catch fish?  I'm satisfied because mine do.

IMO the true measure of a good fisherman is how well he can utilize his rod, whatever it may be, to catch fish and truely be satisfied with the total performance from fisherman to rod to presentation and to the net!

I am impressed, however, with the craftmanship, artwork and effort put forth to create the work on the rods above although not for me.  I'm also impressed with those who walk around the streams and fish with top of the line expensive rods and gear who flaunt it all quite well.  Impressed that they have made lots of money to attain such outstanding equipment, but never impressed of their fishing abilities until I have witnessed them utilizing it by slaying one after another fish.  Its been on rare ocassion that I've witnessed such a thing.
