New Method

We were on the big pond last Friday, and stumbled onto a new method for perch. Not sure if it would work for walleye or not though. After staying too long is one spot and not catching very many I decided to troll out to deeper water. I marked a nice school of perch just beyond a pack of boats so we pulled the trolling lines and dropped anchor. This is where the new method comes in. The wife proceeds to toss a fully rigged perch rod over the side, while it was hard not to toss her in after it I decided it was best to turn the other cheek and finish setting up. Well, after the ''sacrifice" to the perch gods it was non stop action. So you may want to try tossing over a couple of dipsys or even a downrigger or two, might help the walleye catch. Oh and by the way if you happen to snag a nice 6.5' perch rod complete with fireline and perch rig, let me know.

O yeah, they were stacked probably 4 or 5 feet thick off the bottom, but they weren't hungry yet. We went shallower and saw about the same on the finder and started rippin lips...

I was surprised that they were chompin' on the goldens as aggressively as they were, even caught them on crawlers.

AM went back same spot nice marks one perch in 20 min. Headed SE to 55 FOW and punched the 3 tickets, carcus went for a swim, tied up buoys and we were in for an early lunch.

You'll have to watch it with the **** walleyes..
The Walt god is not as easily appeased as the perchy dude..
I forgot to snap the bottom bouncer on my line in the heat of battle and pitched a bottom bouncer and brand new crawler harness over the side this morning.. Could only scrounge up 2...
Mabee if I had pitched the pole and all.

You think you could fake the walleye god out with one of those cheap wal-mart combos?  May have to give that a try!

Try this its what I did.

Take her out for the first time and make it as misserable as you possibly can. Maybe some bad rainy weather high winds and waves, make things as complicated and crazy as you can. And say aint this great!!!   She will never wanna go ever again. To this day my wife says go ahead and go its all you. I want no part of it again.

    Thats the ticket

My new girl is begging me to take her out when I get home from the "sand box".  She can't wait to get out fishing again.  I even tried pulling the "the best bite is when it's raining tho" and her response was..."That's why they make rain gear, your not scaring me!  I love fishing rain or shine!"

Guess I'll have to find another way out!

O yeah and she hunts too!  Dang her cousin, I'm friends with him, I may have to kick his a@@ when I get back.  I already told her that hunting camp is time for me and the guys (she was cool with that, as long as I take her out every now and then).

That would work if not for the fact she loves running and hiking!  Plus, I don't want to walk after all the walking I've been doing over here...That's why I bought the boat and kayaks.

Maybe I'll just have her carry everything?  Then it may work...
