I have heard different stories about what happen to the Victory.

Most say it was improperly winterized.  Supposedly, it is not taken out of the water in the winter.  Some valves were left open and water got into the engine compartment.  Well I guess you can imagine the rest.

I also heard that the backlog to replace the engine is two years. OUCH!
So he was thinking of repairing it.

Just visited the website and the victory will be closed for this season.  It states that they will reopen in May, 2010.  The Victory crew did a fine job in 2008 of getting on the fish as does the EJ.

The credibility of the Victory people is sinking fast.

Maybe credibility is on back order as well, seems they can't even get any in Washington DC.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, have to think a motor for a 50+ year old boat would be hard to find/replace/repair.

Not really sure why you would make that comment though, nothing like kicking when they're down.

Credibility of a guy who surely wants to make a living running a big boat a few miles and anchoring? Not like finding Perch has been difficult the last few years in Erie. Been pulling steady limits since Mem day. I am sure as soon as he can get back on the water he will.
