Transom saver for IO outdrive????

OK maybe not really a transom saver but..... I'm looking for those plastic devices that slip onto the shaft of the trim cylinder to support the weight of an IO outdrive instead of letting the trim system support the weight while trailering.

Hope I explained that clearly. Pretty much like a plastic cylinder with a slot in it that snaps over the chrome trim shaft.

Is anyone familiar with those and where I might find them.

Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks blunt but.... out of stock, don't know and can't find out if they'll fit my Volvo outdrive, and can't order one item from their supplier so it will take "at least several weeks" for them to get it!

    Any other help?

How come you don't want to go with the actual "Transom Saver" rod that connects from your trailer from to your outdrive?...You could go to the local plumbing store and get some 1" PVC and make them yourself. That's virtually all that they are.

I've seen them at cabelas and kmart of all places. I use them on mine and love them, never worried about the drive leaking down while on the road. I would think most boat dealers would have them.

Ordered from Overton's for $23. Later saw them  a little cheaper on eBay. Just didn't know that they were called trailering clips so couldn't search.

I hear ya Bigslick.... I could have made them in 15 minutes for about $5 but just didn't feel like tinkering today. Too much else to do.... like figure out where to go for eyes and when the weather will let me.

My boat is sitting in the drive and I noticed the skeg was touching the ground. Put it back up. Three hours later back on the ground. No fluid leaking anywhere so I guess it's time to have a check valve in the system looked at. In the meantime I can't afford down time. It operates properly so I can fish but I need to be able to trailer until they can get me into a shop.

Anybody else ever have this problem? Quick fix?

I'm thinking that since it isn't leaking maybe I just need to cycle it up & down a few times and the check valve will work right. Maybe something blocking it. It takes hours for it to come down.

Sounds like the seals are bad inside cylinder...To your point though, they usually leak....
