My reel took a dip

While fishing today my baitcaster inadvertently took a swim(between 30sec and 1 min)should I tear it open to dry and clean or am I OK?Thanks in advance.

    Sitting it in a sunny place should dry it out without having to tear it open...

    Depending whether you got dirt and grime in it ???
    If you get griding or sticking,STOP and tear it down!!!!
