Northerns

Are Northern pike very active in the heat of the summer?  I've never gone out  specifically targeting Northerns, but I may have some time this weekend.  Can anyone suggest  good lake - Sandy Lake?  Shenango?

Yes. My son and I each caught one in a small lake one summer day when it was over 90 degrees, at around 3 pm, and very sunny and humid out, bass fishing with a Rapala and a spinnerbait. Fish were 30" & 36", so it wasn't like they were some tiny, little, always active torpedos, and they ran down a moving bait in some pretty warm water.

I've caught plenty of 'em in Presque Isle Bay in the heat of summer. I run a top water popper....jerkin it hard...some may even say overdone, but it works.

I don't always snag fish, but when I do...
    I choose Little Cleos

I'm the best looking smartest snagging poacher alive...
