Tionesta Lake

I will be visiting NW PA soon and plan to fish Tionesta Lake from my canoe.

I have never been there before. How is the Crappie & Bluegill fishing? Is the upper poertion near Nebraska Bridge a place to start?

Good luck in a canoe.  Hopefully you don't get swamped by the water skiers/recreational boats.  Be careful.  Sorry I can't help you on the fishing aspect of Tionesta.  I have only been on it in a friends boat to water ski and camp.

Right around the boat launch and piers are good for fishing. The water is very deep there though.

Up near Nebraska Bridge the water is very shallow, but it's quite a ways up from the piers.

I've always caught more numbers in the deeper water on that lake.

Small mouth fishing is excellent near nebraska bridge. Try soft plastics in crawfish color phases . Musky fishing is superb in the lake. For skis I would catch creek chubs for bait & fish dusk & dawn / small mouths through out the day

Put in at Nebraska.  From the bridge down to the bouys there is 10 mph limit.  up by the bridge it is lower.  On the one side there are big rocks you can not miss them.  Try above the bridge also.  The lake does not start till after the bouys.  If you put in at the dam it is a long haul if you are paddling.

Only fished Tionesta Lake once and did very good on bluegil and crappie. We motored around from sunken tree to sunken tree around sure and we nailing them on fatheads and worms. Also got a few smallmouth too.
