erie bass

I have been unusally busy last couple weeks.  I haven't been able to get to erie and decided to fish tomorrow or Wednesday. I am hoping to get some help on the conditions.  Is the fishing for bass better in the lake or bay right now?  I was aslo curious about the depth that anybody was having success.  Thank you for any info.  Tom

Thanks guys.  I am familar with northeast marina and right outside the bay.  Would anybody be able to recommend an area between erie and the n.y. line.  How far out would I need to go?  I am only comfortable within a mile or two of shore.  Tom

You should be able to catch fish in that whole area...I would start at east ave (there's a launch there), and head east to shades beach or so. Alot of tribs runnin out to the lake. Fish could be anywhere from 8-20 fow...probably everywhere in between. You'll find plenty of perch too, if you dig that kind of thing. If ya wanna fish LM, the bay is where it's at....any weedbed will do. Hope this helps ya bud...happy fishin!

    Welcome 2 the board!

i think thats all the further you'd need to go.... dont really fish for smallies too much but always had luck with a black jig head and chartruesse mr. twister tail... think you could findem in the 15-25ft range???  id just screw around and try different depths... take some perchn gear with too! was out in that area sat. evening and found a limit n a half of perch in 25ft... just acouple ideas for ya
