Presque Isle Bass

Had a great time tonight over at presque isle.. Fishin' from shore.  Rippin' lips with rubber while all the others on the dock were using bobbers and cralwers/minnows and gettin' skunked.  Was waitin' for one to stop by and ask what I was using, would've been happy to share.

Caught 5 from 6-8:30pm... tried out some wal mart $1 gulp sinking minnows (clearance isle in edinboro) in pro blue (look shimmery blue/purple), weightless with a slow steady retrieve.  Too much fun.  Thinkin' of heading back tomorrow morning if it's not raining.

    Thanks Harry, no monsters but fun.. Went this morning from 9 to 11 and the bite was slower.  Caught two, no real size to them.  Couple others near me were landing some decent size perch on nightcrawlers.

    Nice bucketmouth , I never get tired of catching those guys.

    Even though they are cookie cut outs around 13 to 16 inchers they are still a blast to catch.

     I can do it all day long but I dont cause I have to come home sometime so my better half lets me do it again and again.

    tons of nice bass in that bay
    when i was a kid we would catch whitefish all day behind the library
    there was no library in those days
    just a few bars where sailors from the ore carriars would get drunk and let us kids
    have a sip of thier whiskey

    NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! thats my bass spot! it was supposed to be a secret behind the library! o well its got plenty of room, and I'm not one of those jack***'s that call spot burning for any little thing..its a great spot..and nice fish..and what size hook were you using?

    I wasn't behind the library but OK.... I didn't mention where I was at. I was in Presque Isle State Park, at one of the couple areas that has piers.

    The hook is a Gamakatsu worm hook with an offset shank. No clue on the size, your average "texas riggin' size" I suppose. :) It was another walmart special at some point I'm sure, probably got a bag of them for $1.

    go  around misery bay, lagoons, horseshoe from shore with topwater plugs or floatn worm and imagine you could slam a few. seen them jumpn while on a search and destroy mission 4 some spawn'n papermouths with 12 ended in the bucket
