Pymatuning 5-29

Hit Pyma today out of Orchard Road. Fished 6 hours..

Couldn't by a hit trolling so I went to drifting jigs.

Caught 12 Perch, 10 Crappies (11"-13"), 2 channel cats, and 10 Walleyes (22" was the biggest). Caught 4 shorties(11") good sign for the future..

Tasty treats..

Some nice slabs...

Box a Gold...

Nice job Bings.  I'll trade you a trip on Erie for a trip on Pymy!  I usually do well on Pymy, but never as well as you seem to do there.

bings, keep that up and i am going to have to ask you to stay away from the lake.  you know, i still own most of it.

nice job.  saved a lot of minnies lives by reducing the population of predators.  also, nice pics again.

skip,  i would be glad to unload gm, but pymy, i keep.  fact is, after i demand a new truck, i will wash my hands of the joint.  have been thinking about stocking pymatuning with carp, though.

    Hey Bings,

Floating jigs or lead heads on the bottom and what depth? Two weeks ago did well on floaters in 5'-6' ft.

Lead heads. The depth was 16-18 feet..

Didn't do as well today. 3 eyes, 3 crappies, some perch..

I think I was fishing in the middle of the Mennonite Walleye Pro-Am..

2/3 of the boats around me were amishmen..I'm jealous most of them have better boats than me....

Alot of boat traffic and abundant sunshine slowed down the bite..

Although I did talk to a couple fells that had caught 50 crappies by noon....

that is funny and also true.  a bunch would keep there boats at duck and drake, so the bishop would not find out....

    I caught a 27" walleye today, and on Wednesday a 25".

    I was bass fishing, LOL.

Caught the one on Wednesday in the weeds about 3 foot deep and on a soft plastic craw I was pitching to weed clumps.
The 27 today was on a bass jig. I pitched to an offshore log, felt a fish pick it up and swim off. I'm thinking bass and didn't set the hook, was practicing for a tournament tomorrow. Curiousity got the best of me, I pitched back and set the hook the second time it picked it up. When I hit her I thought "you dumb arse you just hooked a 5 pounder". It was, but it had a white tipped tail and teeth

They both were mighty tasty on the grill!

You are totally correct..The biologists say the Snagging at the spillway has no affect on the fishery as far as fish numbers..
