Sweet!!!  Way to nail one Reel Force!!!

I made a feeble attempt at getting out around lunchtime, but arrived at the Troy ramp to a fellow angler greeting me with "You're sixth in line" for the ramp...  LOTS of boats out by the dam today!

I happened to see S.O.F. pulling his boat out so I shot the breeze with him for a few minutes then went to check on the Corning ramp just for comparison.  As expected, it was a zoo- and the pontoon boat circus was in full effect so I trudged the boat back home and spent the afternoon exercising the crappie and two pretty respectable LMBs that were surprisingly eager to hit a surface popper even though the lake is still a chilly 52 degrees.

Even though the river looked pretty crazy, it was kind of cool to see that many people out there trying their luck in the "Striper Madness" in the Albany area...

Mmmm mmm mmm man all these pics of these big stripes, I'll definatly have to put this into my fishin schedual next season those are great! have a 15' extra wide river john boat. and a 7.5 out board will that do for the hudson? I've used it on the Mississippi.

Boat's big enough but I would go with a little bigger motor that's if you are going to do some run up and down the river!! But if you do make it up here, Looks US(jimmy's gang) UP!!!!!

The fish will spawn soon, when water temp hits around 65degrees - temp right now is between 57-58 - so it sorta depends on how fast the water warms - long cool nights and cooler days means the season will last longer hotter the shorter - all depends on the weather .... the Herring come up the river w/ Shad to spawn and the Stripers follow to do two things - follow the food and to spawn - once they do that they turn around and to the ocean they head ....

That has to be a blast from a nice boat. I can only imagine what kind of elite fishing cocktail parties that go on up there in those cabin boats! glta and be safe out there!

I've heard that the Sunoco gas station in Scotia has given up several chunky Stripers this year, Reel Force!

    Jimmy:

You couldn't be more right about that Sunoco station in Scotia.  I lost a really nice striper there when it got my line around the lift in the lube bay and broke off.

OK Reel... looks like you've still got your boat eh?  Still looking for a fishin bud?  I'm dying here looking at all these stripers- I feel like Rosie O Donnell in a bakery and my mouth is glued shut.  Or something like that.
