Most of it was 42-43 degrees this afternoon.  If there was anything warmer we didn't drive over it,  and we drove over most of it. There were some icebergs floating in the channel, but I didn't see any ice elsewhere.

From what you guys are saying I take it that the Bay is very much open and fishable from a boat. Don't want to drag my boat 3 hours and not be able to use it.

As of 2 pm today, when we left, the bay was open. The east winds blew some ice bergs into the channel, but at 2pm they were only just inside the channel, and didn't appear to be moving in any further. From there to the head (west end) of the bay was completely open, including Marina bay.  We didn't go over to Misery bay, but it appeared to be ice free at least out to where it meets the channel, couldn't see around the point. I'm sure it's open because I watched a couple boats go around the point and not come back out.

We caught a few largemouth and hooked a few steelhead.

The docks weren't in yet in marina bay, well they were, but the first section out from shore wasn't, so they are useless.   It might be tough putting in and out if you're going by yourself in a large boat. I'm not sure about the other docks in the bay, didn't look to see if they were in yet or not.

Fished Marina Bay last night.  Docks are now in.  Surface temp in Marina bay was 48 degrees.  Only caught a couple dink perch.

I trolled the main bay on Sat. the surface temps varied from 42° to 44° with large chunks of ice drifting down the bay from a strong ENE wind. We also anchored in the marina for a while to try and get some relief from the wind the surface temp in there was not much better 45°. The wind has shifted back to the WSW so the temps should be rising till this coldfront comes through on Wednesday.

Thanks guys.  I hope to head up next week post cold front and do some trolling in the bay.  42 to 44 is good temp for that.

I trolled the bay yesterday and found water temperatures near the channel to be 46 degrees.  We also hit the water in front of the Yacht club and found the water temperature there to be 48 degrees.  After today though, I wouldnt count on those temperatures being the same.  What a difference a day makes.

Another note, these same areas had temperatures of 43 & 44 degrees on Saturday.

That's what I am afraid of.  I hope that they don't drop below 42 or 43 before the weather clears.  I've got the trolling itch BAD!  Did you pick anything up on your troll Schwack???  What did you have out for a spread?
