Monster Flathead !

A buddy of mine caught this monster flathead this week in a western Pa river. He was targeting Hybrid Stipped Bass and this beast took his offering. A 40 min battle ensued and he was able to land the fish. It weighed 40 lbs and was close to 50" in length. It was probably only one good meal away from a new Pa state record. I'm sure it will be one of the biggest flatheads caught this year in Pa waters. Plus it is still swimming around, after the photo the fish was released unharmed back into the river.

Pulled this one out of Shenango River 07 while Walleye fishing. Hit a minnow on 6 lb. line ,took awhile to land it. 25lb./ 36". Released unharmed after a short photo session. Took off like a sub upstream.
